Both new and used books for children are accepted as donations. Almost Home provides shelter to families experiencing homelessness as well as rental assistance to those on the brink of eviction and possible homelessness. They also provide utility assistance to help keep the heat and lights on for families that are financially struggling. They also have partnered with Coal Creek Adult Education Center to provide GED and ESL classes to those in our community in an effort to help increase self-sufficiency. We have also had a large number of adult cats surrendered by their owners because they could no longer take care of them. We also continue to rescue many homeless, abused and abandoned cats and kittens from the unforgiving streets of Colorado.

Almost Home Adoptions for rescued cats is a no-kill, private 501c3 nonprofit, cage-free rescue and adoption center. Almost Home is dedicated to finding loving, responsible homes for rescued, homeless, and abused animals. The application will ask basic questions to determine eligibility for the programs and services.
This has been a difficult year for Almost Home, as it has been for many others due to COVID-19. AHHS is a private, non-profit organization and is not directly affiliated with any national organizations or coalitions. Almost Home is contracted with the cities of Lafayette and West Lafayette to accept all stray animals found within the city limits of either city. AHHS accepts owner surrendered pets and pets transferred from other animal welfare organizations as shelter capacity allows and only by scheduled appointment.
