Both new and used books for children are accepted as donations. While their parents seek Outreach services, a volunteer reads to the children and demonstrates to young parents how to read to their children. Because books are so important for the growth and development of pre-school children, Catholic Outreach’s Book-in Hand program provides children ages one to six with a new hardcover book. Guests may apply to our energy assistance program that is funded by the Energy Outreach Colorado Foundation. Each week medical personnel are present to assist the guests with preventive health care and counseling. A free bus service is operated by members of the St. Matthew Episcopal Church each Monday morning. Clean, seasonal clothing in good condition and household items in good repair are accepted as are small kitchen appliances in good working order are accepted.

Almost Home Adoptions for rescued cats is a registered 501c3 nonprofit rescue and adoption center located in Westminster, Colorado.
Out of consideration for the time and energy of our small adoptions team, we ask that you apply only when certain that you are ready and able to adopt. All Almost Home cats and kittens come with health records and are dewormed, vaccinated, spayed or neutered, FIV/FeLV tested, and microchipped. Most adoptions will require 2 to 3 visits to the rescue prior to final approval. Simplifies the process for looking for affordable housing. Housing
Rapid Re-Housing offers an individual or family who has been homeless or will become homeless an opportunity to lease housing with one or more months’ worth of financial support. Gas cards may be available for stranded travelers passing through Grand Junction. We do not offer train tickets or bus tickets – either for travel within town or for traveling to a different city.
This has been a difficult year for Almost Home, as it has been for many others due to COVID-19. AHHS is a private, non-profit organization and is not directly affiliated with any national organizations or coalitions. Almost Home is contracted with the cities of Lafayette and West Lafayette to accept all stray animals found within the city limits of either city. AHHS accepts owner surrendered pets and pets transferred from other animal welfare organizations as shelter capacity allows and only by scheduled appointment.

The T-House shelters up to two families with pre-school age children, each living a maximum of four months in their own small yet comfortable apartment in the downtown area. Almost Home takes in homeless, abused and abandoned cats and kittens. Many cats that find their way to Almost Home are strays. Our residents come primarily from the streets of Colorado and public shelters where they had once been scheduled to be killed. Almost Home Humane Society was formed as the Tippecanoe County Humane Association in 1939 and since that time has been dedicated to the care of pets in our community. Today, Almost Home serves more than 3,000 pets each year through its programs.
Guests must have an eviction notice and a means of sustaining themselves during the months ahead. The amount of one-time assistance is determined by need. The books that are distributed have been donated by individuals, foundations and various organizations. Almost Home has partnered with Coal Creek Adult Education to provide both GED & ESL classes.
